Chemotherapy treatments for Cowboys Fringants singer Karl Tremblay, who has prostate cancer, are “no longer working” according to his wife Marie-Annick Lépine. The news generated hundreds of messages of encouragement on social networks on Wednesday, the admirers of the artist not however hiding their concern.

In a Facebook post, the 44-year-old singer-songwriter wrote on Tuesday evening, after a difficult day – for several other reasons: “That’s when Karl tells me that the chemotherapy is no longer working. He will start another treatment after the break. Misery…”
Karl Tremblay, 46, announced on July 19 that he had prostate cancer. He has since had to undergo chemotherapy treatments every three weeks, which has necessitated adjustments to the Cowboys Fringants’ tour schedule. Their friends Les Trois Accords replaced them at three festivals in the summer of 2022.

On Wednesday, Marie-Annick Lépine’s team indicated that the latter did not wish to comment further on the illness of her partner, with whom she is raising two daughters. He prefers to remain discreet about the next stages of his treatments.

The disease does not stop the couple, who wish to continue doing what they do best, shows. The Cowboys Fringants will perform at the Salle Odyssée in Gatineau (March 13), at L’Étoile in Brossard (March 24) and at the Théâtre Alphonse-Desjardins in Repentigny (March 30-31).
For her part, Marie-Annick Lépine continues her solo tour in parallel with the pieces from her third album, “Entre Beaurivage et L’Ange-Gardien”. She will be this Wednesday at the Maison des arts Desjardins in Drummondville, then she will be at the Center des arts Juliette-Lassonde in Saint-Hyacinthe (March 2), at the Pavillon L’Entrepôt in the borough of Lachine (March 11) and at the Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée in Villeray (March 15).
