“Prosperity Guardian” – as a boiling point – 2024-03-12 14:12:07

/ world today news/ In the near future, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, will announce the beginning of the operation Prosperity Guardian (“Guardian of prosperity”) to counter the threats from the Houthis in the Red Sea.

Oh, what will happen! The pro-Iranian groups Ansar Allah (Helpers of Allah, the Houthis), who control northern Yemen in solidarity with the Palestinian movement Hamas, have long cruised in the Red Sea, disrupting the prosperity of this warm-water area.

They decided to attack all ships in the Red Sea bound for Israel, regardless of who owned them. In particular, after an airstrike from the Houthi-controlled part of Yemen, the merchant ship Al Jasrah caught fire, attacked by either a drone or a missile. According to the AP, there was a fire on the ship.

Note that this is the fourth merchant ship to be attacked near Yemen in several days. In addition, the Houthis fired missiles at the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Ardmore Encounter, forced the Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship Maersk Gibraltar to change course under threat of attack, and knocked out the Norwegian tanker Strinda in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait with anti-ship ASCM missile.

On December 15, Yemeni rebels set a daily record by firing on four ships simultaneously in the Red Sea:

– the Bulgarian cargo ship “Rouen” was attacked by UAVs and captured;

– the container ship MSC Palatium III caught fire after being hit by a missile;

– MSC Alanya was injured;

– the Maersik Gebrelater container ship was attacked by a UAV;

– Hapag-Lloyd earlier confirmed that its container ship Al-Jasrah was also attacked.

In addition, drones attacked the British and American destroyers HMS Diamond and USS Carney. It is true that the Pentagon reported that on December 16 alone they managed to destroy 15 Houthis machines.

Military escalation in the Red Sea has threatened international shipping. In particular, the Danish Maersk, which controls almost 15% of the world shipping market, the world’s largest container ship capacity Swiss MSC, the German Hapag-Lloyd, the French CMA CGM and other companies are rerouting their ships around Africa (5 thousand km longer than the traditional route), which will inevitably lead to higher commodity prices.

Earlier, the Israeli shipping company Zim, one of the largest in the world, stopped using the Suez Canal. Taiwanese shipping giant Yang Ming Marine has decided to reduce cargo deliveries to Israel.

Traffic through the Red Sea currently accounts for 10% to 12% of global maritime traffic and accounts for 5% of the world’s oil transport volume. If the security crisis in the Red Sea spills over into the neighboring Arabian Sea, through which up to a third of the world’s seaborne oil supplies pass, the economic costs will rise even further.

Israel’s $22 billion trade with East Asian countries is at risk and must now bypass the Cape of Good Hope.

The 15,000 km route between Rotterdam and Singapore via the Suez Canal has been extended by over 5,000 km and the damage is mounting. In an attempt to bypass the danger zone, the Israelis are diverting some commercial cargo traffic to Dubai…

Can the people of America be indifferent to all this chaos? Of course not, which is why Mr. Austin was urgently concerned about “freedom of navigation.” This black gentleman plans to visit the region early next week in the company of the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Air Force, General Brown, to announce the launch of the same Operation Prosperity Guardian.

It is noted that it will be international in nature, aimed at ensuring the desired “international maritime safety”. In addition, after recently capturing the Israeli ship Galaxy Leader, the Houthis announced that they would not release it until the Netanyahu regime stopped the destruction of Gaza under the guise of a “military operation.”

A day earlier, Yemeni rebel spokesman Yahya Sari announced that the Houthis had launched a massive attack on Israel’s Red Sea port of Eilat.

The main intrigue surrounding Lloyd Austin’s plan lies in the question of whether Saudi Arabia will allow the Houthis to launch ballistic missiles through its territory at targets in the Red Sea. Previously, she did not allow it, but now, after the beginning of friendship with Iran, she may change her position.

It seems that if the head of the Pentagon had known for sure that the missiles would arrive from that direction, he would not have flaunted his muscles so much.

The missiles are Iranian and as they say are hypersonic and very accurate, so they can overpower an aircraft carrier. An unpleasant surprise for those “guardians of prosperity” who dare to patrol the sea.

It’s possible, of course, that the CIA got Saudi Prince Bin Salman to agree to this ban – in which case we’ll see what Iran’s response is.

But if it fails, then in the summer of 2021 something similar to the hasty flight of Americans from Afghanistan will happen. It is not for nothing that one of their marches sings of “land and sea.” They fled by land, they will flee by water, leaving Zelensky’s regime in even greater grief…
