Prosecutors Reveal 19 Bullets in the Body of 6 FPI Troops

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The inaugural trial of the murder of six members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) revealed how three members of the Resmob Polda Metro Jaya shot and killed the soldiers. In the indictment read out by public prosecutor (JPU) Zet ​​Tadung Allo at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel), Monday (18/10), it was revealed the role of the defendants Brigadier Fikri Ramadhan and Ipda Yusmin Ohorella, along with Ipda Elwira in shooting dead the guards. In the indictment, there were 19 recorded bullet wounds embedded in the bodies of six members of Laskar FPI. Each of them was shot dead at least twice using live ammunition. The bullet wounds, said Tadung, were in vital areas such as the chest, temples, and the periphery of the lungs and arms.

Tadung explained that there were two murder locations in a series of cases which according to the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) were as follows: unlawful killing. The first murder, against Faiz Ahmad Syukur (22 years old) and Andi Oktiawan (33).

It is said that the two youths were shot dead in the Km 50 Rest Area during a car chase on the toll road. The pursuit of each other led to resistance and attacks. It was even said that a gunfight took place.

The two laskar members tried to fight against four police officers, First Brigadier Faisal Khasbi Alaeya as the driver, the accused First Brigadier Fikri, Ipda Elwira, and Ipda Yusmin. First Brigadier Faisal opened fire at the FPI car.

Twice he fired live bullets into the air as a warning, and into the tires of the FPI Troops to force them to stop. However, Ipda Elwira also fired shots at the FPI car by targeting the passenger in the FPI car.

He uses a 9mm Sig Sauer pistol. Ipda Yusmin and Brigadier Fikri were also said to have opened fire with a similar type of pistol at the passengers in the FPI car who were chasing them.

However, Ipda Yusmin’s gun jammed. The prosecutor said that Ipda Yusmin also took the gun belonging to Bripka Faisal which was tucked in his thigh and fired again at the FPI car. “The defendant Ipda Yusmin Ohorella shot several times, followed by the defendant Ipda Fikri Ramadhan, who also shot CZ C063937 Kal 9 mm at the passenger of the FPI car, with a shooting distance of about one meter,” said the prosecutor.

A barrage of gunfire, three bullets were fired, which killed Andi Oktiawan. According to the post-mortem, the prosecutor said that the gunshot wound was detected by two bullets entering the front of the chest, and one bullet entering the temple of the left eye.

A series of shots from Ipda Elwira, Ipda Yusmin, and First Brigadier Fikri, also fired three bullets that killed Faiz Ahmad Syukur. From the post-mortem, two gunshot wounds were found in the left chest and one bullet went into the forearm.

While the location of the second murder, is at Km 50+ 200 meters. It is said that the prosecutor, Ipda Yusmin, together with Ipda Elwira and First Brigadier Fikri took four other FPI members into a Xenia B 1519 UTI car. The four remaining FPI members are Muhammad Reza (20), Akhmad Sofiyan (26), Muhammad Suci Khadavi Poetra (21), and Luthfi Hakim (25).

The four youths, when they were led into a police car, were still alive. “That the four FPI members who were transferred to the Xenia B 1519 UTI car were carried out by inserting them through the rear trunk door, and ordered to sit squatting on the seats involved,” said Tadung, continuing his indictment.

He said the four FPI members were not handcuffed or tied up. Muhammad Reza sat squatting at the back on the far left, Akhmad Sofiyan in the middle in the back, Muhammad Suci Khadavi in ​​the back on the right, and Lutfi Hakim in the right in the middle seat.

Beside him, in the middle seat, with his back to Reza, Sofiyan, and Khadavi, was Brigadier Fikri who supervised the four FPI members. Meanwhile Ipda Yusmin was also in the Xenia B 1519 UTI, as the driver, accompanied by Ipda Elwira who was in the front left seat.

“That at around 01.50 WIB, the defendant Ipda Yusmin and the defendant Brigadier Fikri Ramadhan together with Ipda Elwira used the Xenia B 1519 UTI car to take the four FPI members to the Metro Jaya Police,” said Tadung.

However, as soon as the unfortunate vehicle was on its way, Reza, who was sitting right behind Brigadier Fikri, was said to have been desperate to attack. “In an instant, Muhammad Reza strangled Brigadier Fikri’s neck,” said Tadung in his indictment.

Luthfi Hakim, who was sitting next to Brigadier Fikri, also helped Muhammad Reza. “Luthfi Hakim, tried to seize the firearm belonging to Brigadier Fikri,” said the indictment.

However, Tadung said, the attempt to seize the weapon was unsuccessful. However, two other FPI members, Akhmad Sofiyan and Suci Khadavi, eventually helped. “Akhmad Sofiyan and Muhammad Suci Khadavi Poetra also helped their two friends (Muhammad Reza and Luthfi Hakim), by taking part in ganging up on Brigadier Fikri by grabbing him,” said Tadung.

However, the attack by the four FPI troops on Brigadier Fikri did not succeed in seizing the weapons. Brigadier Fikri, also asked for help, by shouting to Ipda Yusmin and Ipda Elwira who were in the front seat.

Hearing the screams from Brigadier Fikri, said the prosecutor, Ipda Yusmin who was driving saw a commotion in the back row. He gave the signal to Ipda Elwira. Ipda Elwira responded to this signal by shooting Luthfi Hakim. “Ipda Elwira shot Luthfi Hakim with his gun four times,” the indictment stated.

Lutfi Hakim died instantly with a gunshot wound to the front chest at close range. The prosecutor said that the shot caused the bullet to pierce Luthfi Hakim’s body with evidence of a live bullet hit the rear trunk door of the Xenia B 1519 UTI.

Prosecutor Tadung said Ipda Elwira also shot Akhmad Sofiyan dead. “Ipda Elwira again aimed two shots at Akhmad Sofiyan who was sitting behind the center,” said the prosecutor. The bullet also penetrated Akhmad Sofiyan’s chest.

After the indiscriminate shooting by Ipda Elwira, the condition of Brigadier Fikri, who was in a safe position before being beaten, was free from strangulation and entrapment. There are two surviving members of the FPI laskar. Namely, Muhammad Suci Khadavi and Muhammad Reza.

Both prosecutors said they had not put up a fight. However, Brigadier Fikri also ended up killing the two remaining FPI soldiers. “I don’t know what was going on in the head of Brigadier Fikri, without mercy, deliberately taking other people’s lives,” said the prosecutor.

Brigadier Fikri, said the prosecutor turned his body towards the back seat where Muhammad Reza and Suci Khadavi were. “With a distance of only a few centimeters, fired his gun twice into Muhammad Reza’s chest until the bullet went through the rear trunk door. And then, aimed his gun at Suci Gadavi, and shot three times in the left chest which was also pierced,” said the prosecutor.

For the actions of Brigadier Fikri, both Ipda Yusman were brought to court for legal liability. While Ipda Elwira, despite his status as a suspect in the case FPI troop assassination , but was not filed in court because it was declared dead as a result of an accident before the case was overflowing.

In court, the team of public prosecutors, in their indictment, ensnared Ipda Yusman and Brigadier Fikri with Article 338 and Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code with a penalty of 15 and seven years in prison.
