The Public Ministry obtained nine months of preventive detention against a citizen investigated for the crime against human dignity – exploitation – child pornography.
The investigated David Huancayo Galindo was arrested, on March 19, during a search operation carried out by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Human Trafficking Crimes of Lima Centro – Team 2 of Callao in conjunction with the High Technology Crimes Investigation Division (Divindat), following a prior alert from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of the United States (NCMEC).
During the hearing, in which the deputy prosecutor Cecilia Salvador Mayta participated, the Judiciary decided to grant a period of nine months of preventive detention against the accused, for having found solid elements of conviction that linked him to the commission of the crime of child pornography. .
It is important to highlight that the Prosecutor’s Offices Specialized in Human Trafficking Crimes received 1,831 cases in their 14 tax offices nationwide. Of this total, 142 cases correspond to the crime of child pornography, which seriously harms the dignity and fundamental rights of minors.
