Through a statement, the Attorney General’s Office demonstrated that Heidelger lawyer Alexánder López Córdoba irregularly processed pension acknowledgments to 57 teachers, for a value greater than 1,600 million pesos.
In 2015, the Second Municipal Mobile Criminal Court of Quibdó, with guarantee control functions, sheltered the lawyer from home detention as allegedly responsible for material falsehood in a public document, ideological falsehood in public document aggravated by use, procedural fraud and illicit enrichment. Five years later, in the face of the evidence and arguments presented, the Second Criminal Court of the Quibdó Circuit managed to convict Heidelger lawyer Alexánder López Córdoba as responsible for the millionaire fraud to the pension system.
According to the entity’s statement, a prosecutor from the Quibdó Public Administration Crimes Unit demonstrated that, in some cases, the benefited teachers and former teachers did not practice professionally. In addition, in other requests the time of service was increased or the work site was changed.
In this network of corruption, about 70 people would be linked to different procedural stages. Those investigated include teachers, lawyers and several former municipal officials.
Before the verification of the crimes, the lawyer López Córdoba was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison, for the crimes of ideological falsification in a public document aggravated by the use, procedural fraud and illicit enrichment. Likewise, the ruling established that, in addition, he must pay a fine of 1,697 million pesos and that due to serious illness ruled by the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, the sentenced person will serve the sentence in his place of residence.
