Prosecutor’s Office and Sunafil carried out an operation in the Gamarra commercial emporium against human trafficking

The prosecutor’s office and Sunafil developed this Tuesday the 26th a preventive operation called “Unexpected inspection of various companies”, with the aim of preventing human trafficking.

During the investigation, carried out by representatives of the Prosecutor’s Offices Specialized in Human Trafficking Crimes of Central Lima (Teams 1 and 2) as well as the Prosecutor’s Offices Specialized in Crime Prevention, they found five teenagers working in the Gamarra galleries, one of them He did not have work permits.

Representatives of the National Superintendency of Labor Supervision (Sunafil), the Investigation Division of Crimes against Human Trafficking of the PNP and the Municipality of La Victoria also participated. The specialized prosecutors who attended on behalf of the Public Ministry proceeded to draw up minutes on the evidence found in this preventive operation. Then, they urged the owners and managers of the intervened premises to prevent the commission of said crimes.

It is important to note that the Public Ministry led the construction of the “Coordination Mechanism for the identification and referral of cases of forced labor and/or trafficking in persons for the purposes of labor exploitation”, which will allow for coordinated actions towards an effective response in the fight against the crimes of human trafficking for the purposes of labor exploitation, forced labor and related crimes, in order to optimize the response capacity of the authorities.
