Prosecutor Lee Seong-yoon will be dismissed on March 6 in accordance with the Prosecutor Disciplinary Act.
There are two main reasons for disciplinary action against former Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office Director Lee Seong-yoon.
They said that they failed to maintain the dignity of prosecutors, such as recently saying, “The Yoon Seok-yeol division within the prosecution is one group,” and that during the inspection of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol by then-Attorney General Choo Mi-ae in 2020, investigative materials were unfairly handed over to the inspection committee.
It was also decided to dismiss Park Eun-jung, the former inspection officer who carried out the inspection at the time.
The reason is that the inspection was carried out unreasonably, including using the inspection data on then-Chief Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon to the inspection of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and revising the review reports of other prosecutors.

Former prosecutor Shin Seong-sik, who gave false information about Chief Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon to a reporter during the investigation of the so-called “Channel A incident,” was dismissed last month.
Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong, who got into a physical fight with a chief prosecutor while confiscating a cell phone at the time, was also suspended for four years and was suspended for two months.

The level of disciplinary action is quite different from the judicial outcome.
The prosecution acquitted prosecutors Lee Seong-yoon and Park Eun-jung of charges regarding the inspection of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol in 2021. They are being reinvestigated for the third year since the change of government.
Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong was found not guilty on the charge of self-directed assault by the Supreme Court.
On the other hand, the inspection of Prosecutor Son Jun-seong, who was indicted on charges of instigating accusations by politicians and journalists who raised suspicions about President Yoon’s associates and family, was concluded, saying there was no reason for disciplinary action even though he was on trial.
The first trial court sentenced Prosecutor Son to one year in prison, saying he violated political neutrality and abused prosecutorial power.
