The level of corruption crime in 2019 amounted to 21.1 offences per 100 thousand people compared to the rate of 20.8 in the previous year and “remained stable overall in recent years.” This is stated in the report of the head of the state office of public Prosecutor Igor Krasnov, reports “RIA Novosti”.
Most of the crimes related to corruption were identified during the development of budget funds, including allocated for implementation of target programs, as well as the organization of trading, property management, audit and enforcement activities in the sphere of housing and communal services.
According to the Prosecutor General, the most corrupt regions in Russia is Mordovia, Chuvashia, Kamchatka Krai, and the Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Magadan, Novgorod, Orenburg, Saratov and Tyumen region. The crime rate in the regions by 100 thousand people ranges from 26,31 to 29.68.
The lowest level of bribery registered in Ingushetia, Khakassia, Altai Krai, Vologda, Moscow, Penza and Murmansk regions and St.-Petersburg, Sevastopol and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district. The corresponding coefficient in them is of 6.41 to 9.94.
