About a week ago, the Mexican Public Prosecutor’s Office received an anonymous report that M. was planning to sell child pornography. He would also, according to that report, possibly intend to “buy an adolescent.” He was arrested on the way to this appointment.
50 years in prison
He would have had photos of one or more children in his pocket. Several storage devices containing child pornography, a weapon and drugs were also seized. It concerns a total of 4 terabytes of material, a ‘very large amount’, according to the prosecutor. For each of these offenses M. could be sentenced to a maximum of 50 years in prison.

M., who was arrested in the Netherlands in 2020 on suspicion of continuing the banned pedophile association Martijn and of possessing 10,000 images with child pornography, was allowed to await the trial against him in freedom. He then left for Mexico, where he said he would apply for political asylum.
It is not clear whether the Netherlands will ask for his extradition.
