Prosecutor opens investigation and warns that he will prosecute those who incite to take the institutions | El Salvador News

The fiscal entity indicates that the right to freedom of expression of citizens is recognized, but “not to the call for violence or threat of institutions in the exercise of constitutional powers.”

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) warned this afternoon that it will prosecute those who are inciting, through social networks, to “Be taken by force” the Legislative Assembly for next Sunday to pressure the deputies to approve the loan of $ 109 million for the third phase of the Territorial Control plan.

“Given the current context and in view of the fact that even public and constitutional order is being challenged and threatened, through speeches and statements on social networks, the Attorney General’s Office demands respect for the Constitution of the Republic,” said the statement of the fiscal entity.

He recalled that there is an investigation related to events recorded on Sunday February 9 in the Legislative Assembly and “if the investigation initiated shows evidence of crime, legal action will be taken against the persons involved.”

He added that “the call of any citizen to substitute, intervene or coerce illegitimately any institution of the State goes against our Constitution and undermines the rule of law.”

For his part, the deputy of the PCN and responsible for the security of parliament, Reynaldo Cardoza, explained that in the Assembly security videos they have found that the soldiers not only entered the Blue Room, they also dabbled in some areas of the deputies’ meeting committees.

“The Assembly was practically arrived and raided, including some parts of the commissions that we have found videos that some military entered until the work commissions, that we have told (to the diplomatic corps) everything that has happened,” Cardoza said.
