The oceans on the planet Venus raise the pros and cons among scientists. Some scientists who participate in researching the planet believe that there used to be oceans on Venus, but some deny this. This assessment is reasonable when looking at the current condition of the planet Venus.

The Possible Existence of Oceans on the Planet Venus
Quoting from BGR, it is possible that this planet had oceans more than 3 billion years ago. The ocean emerged from planetary scientists named Alexandra Warren and Edwin Kite. Both are from the University of Chicago.
In his new study there are claims that this planet may be covered in oceans. But over time, the ocean is rapidly lost to the atmosphere. However, the results of his research are still being doubted by a number of scientists.
Other scientists do not necessarily agree because the current condition of Venus is much different from that assumption. Not to mention the mystery of the existence of oxygen.
If there used to be oceans on Venus, there must have been oxygen on the planet. But in fact different from the reality now.

Current Conditions of Venus
Instead of having oceans, the current state of the planet Venus is considered uninhabitable. Why is that? Here are some reasons.
It’s hot
Venus’ current condition is very hot because it has a surface temperature in the range of 820 degrees to almost 900 degrees F. With this temperature, the heat on the planet Venus can melt lead. You can imagine for yourself how hot the planet Venus is because the temperature can’t get out.
Heat on Venus cannot escape because it has a thick atmosphere. Even the thickness of the atmosphere is comparable to 90 times more than Earth’s atmosphere.
This strengthens the suspicion that it is an uninhabitable planet because there is also sulfuric acid rain and strong winds.

Low Oxygen Levels
As we know that living things definitely need oxygen to breathe. If oxygen needs are not met properly, living things can die instantly. Venus is also a planet that has low oxygen levels.
In the atmosphere of Venus alone there is only 96% carbon dioxide, 3% nitrogen, and 1% other gases such as sulfur dioxide. Due to the lack of oxygen on the planet Venus, scientists are increasingly convinced that there used to be no oceans.
If there are oceans, there must be oxygen in the atmosphere. The oxygen cannot leak out of the planet Venus’ atmosphere. Because of this, some scientists balk at the notion that oceans once covered the planet.
Regarding whether or not the oceans are on the planet Venus, until now it has not been revealed with certainty. The hope is that scientists will continue to examine it in more depth in order to know the certainty. Hopefully scientists will also produce advanced technology that can help each of their research. That way, research results can be seen more quickly, accurately, and clearly. (R10/HR-Online)
