The proposed Prime Minister with the second mandate of “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” Academician Nikolay Denkov returned a folder with a completed mandate to form a government to President Rumen Radev.
“I am returning a project for the structure and composition of the Council of Ministers. We expect you to issue a decree and have it voted on in the National Assembly. We hope for a smooth transfer of power as required by the Constitution. It is necessary to calm down the situation so that people can know that the cabinet, the National Assembly and the president are working together so that the state can develop,” Nikolay Denkov pointed out.
In response, the president stated that Bulgaria needs institutions and politicians who are guided by the interest of the people.
“Bulgaria needs institutions and politicians who work for security, justice and against corruption, who strengthen the sovereignty of the country. In the fastest way, I will issue a decree to submit your proposal to the National Assembly, where it will be voted on by the people’s elected representatives,” commented President Radev.
It is planned that the post of prime minister will be on a rotating basis, with Denkov as prime minister for the first 9 months, and Maria Gabriel from GERB-SDS for the next.
With PP-DB, there were no representatives of GERB-SDS, from whom they expect the necessary votes in the National Assembly to elect the government. The recovery plan and a new balanced budget will be the first priorities of the “Denkov-Gabriel” government.
