After being adopted at first reading in Parliament, the bill aimed at protecting owners against illegal occupations will be examined, Wednesday, June 14, at second reading in the Senate.
This bill is carried by the deputy of the 1st constituency of Eure-et-Loir, Guillaume Kasbarian (Renaissance). Nearly 70 opponents of the text demonstrated, this Monday, June 12, in the center of Chartres, at the call of several political parties (PCF, EELV, LFI, Together!), associations and trade union organizations (FSU, Solidaires, CGT) .
Accelerated procedure for the eviction of squatters: “The figures show the effectiveness of the system”, according to the deputy (LREM) of Chartres, Guillaume Kasbarian
The text provides for a battery of measures against squatters, in particular accelerated eviction procedures (72 hours to seven days, depending on the type of dwelling) and a reinforced repressive arsenal. A second part tackles the litigation of unpaid rents, by reducing the legal proceedings and the delays likely to be granted by the judges.
In a third section, the law provides for measures aimed at protecting the most vulnerable tenants: early triggering of support measures, provision of vacant premises for temporary accommodation.
Squatters: the MP for Chartres proposes a law to triple the penalties
Pascal Savoldelli, communist senator from Val-de-Marne, came to explain his position:
“I will speak in the Senate on Wednesday to declare this bill inadmissible. For us, it is an anti-tenant law that does not address the problem of unpaid bills and will further clutter the courts. »
Pascal Savoldelli (communist senator from Val-de-Marne)
Micheline Cognard, spokesperson for the Together 28! movement, denounces “an inhuman and unacceptable law”, which will, she says, “put even more people on the street”.
premium The anti-squat law adopted by the deputies: “useful measure” for the majority, “extreme right text” for the left
Speaking in front of the Jean-Moulin monument, the president of the Right to Housing association in Seine-et-Marne, Fanny Dulin, called for the “withdrawal of the Kasbarian law”.
Contacted by telephone, the deputy of the 1st constituency of Eure-et-Loir, Guillaume Kasbarian (Renaissance), recalls that “squatting is a crime” and that “private property is a fundamental right”.
The Eurelian parliamentarian affirms that he is not “surprised that the far left is in caricature”. According to him, “this law is necessary and eagerly awaited”, because “we cannot be one of the rare countries in the world where you have to wait years to find your property when the rents are not paid”.
