Proposed Bill Aims to Strengthen Autonomous Transport Companies with Credit Line for Self-Employed Truck Drivers

Ö Bill 1242/23 The law being discussed in the Chamber of Deputies provides for the creation of the National Program for the Strengthening of Autonomous Transport Companies (Pronat), which will be eligible for a credit line of R$80,000-160,000 to help self-employed truck drivers with tax and maintenance costs.

According to PL, self-employed truck drivers who own up to 3 trucks are entitled to the loan with an annual interest rate of 5.5%. Pronat also grants the amount with a grace period of 12 months and a payment period of up to 48 months.

The author of the proposal is MP Zé Trovão (PL-SC). He claims that the National Program to Strengthen Autonomous Transport (Pronat) wants to contribute to this category.

Road freight transport is a key activity in the country and self-employed truck drivers are important players in this sector,” stresses the MP.

Funding for Pronat’s self-employed truck drivers comes from the Worker Support Fund (FAT).

Processing of the PL

The project, which aims to help self-employed Pronat truck drivers, will be analyzed by the Agriculture, Livestock, Utilities and Rural Development Commissions; Work; road and traffic; finance and taxes; and constitution and justice and citizenship.
