Due to the sharp increase in the cost of seeds, there is a need to increase the wages of Kuwaiti citizens working in the government and private sectors, as well as pensioners.

MPs have submitted a draft proposal in this regard. A group of five MPs presented the draft law in the National Assembly demanding an increase of 400 dinars.

It is also proposed to include soldiers and policemen in the salary increase. The MPs said that the increase in wages is necessary to enable Swadeshi families to face the cost of living crisis. A draft law seeking debt relief from bank loans to natives has also been submitted. The main objective of the bill is to free borrowers from high interest rates on loans.

The MPs also demanded that the government should distribute 20 percent of the foreign investments and earnings to Kuwaiti citizens above 21 years of age.

Earlier, the allowances were doubled to encourage Kuwaitis to work in the private sector when it was not possible to provide jobs in the public sector.

Currently, Kuwaitis are not interested in working in the private sector. When the Manpower Authority provided an opportunity to those who were waiting to apply for the job, most of them were not ready.
