Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has suggested that novel Corona Virus A parliamentary committee should be formed to solve the problems of Pakistanis stuck in China.
Addressing the National Assembly, he said that ’till now 21,653 people have been infected with the virus and 23,000 people are under surveillance. Our children are not orphans, so we have to decide that we want to keep them in China. Or want to bring back to Pakistan’.
He further said that the proposed parliamentary committee should take a decision regarding the problems faced by Pakistanis due to the spread of corona virus in China.
On which National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser decided to get a policy statement from the government before forming a parliamentary committee.
On the other hand, another flight carrying 122 passengers from China arrived at Islamabad International Airport, 31 Chinese nationals were also on board, one of whom was transferred to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) due to mild fever.
In this regard, an immigration officer said that the Chinese passenger was suffering from breathing problems due to which he was kept in the isolation ward at Pims. He said that the passenger had developed fever during the flight.
PIMS spokesperson Dr Wasim Khawaja also confirmed that one patient has been shifted to the hospital, saying that the patient is being examined and a team of doctors will decide whether to keep him in the hospital or not.
He said that the National Institute of Health team reached the hospital and obtained samples of the patient to assess whether the said person is infected with the novel corona virus.
On the other hand, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Ezra Fazal Pechuho told the provincial cabinet meeting that a flight carrying 300 Chinese citizens landed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Monday night, for which ambulances and doctors were present at the airport.
Apart from this, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said in a press conference that the government is fully aware of the threat of corona virus and has made necessary preparations in this regard.
Talking to journalists at the Directorate General Public Relations, he said that no case of corona virus has been reported in Pakistan so far, while precautionary measures and awareness are important to prevent the spread of the disease.
He said that a total of 7 suspected cases were reported, out of which 4 patients were discharged while 3 are under treatment.

It should be noted that symptoms like flu or pneumonia appear when a person is infected with a corona virus, while there is no concrete treatment for its new type, but it can be controlled with the help of preventive measures and other medicines.
