Erhürman and his accompanying delegation visited the villages in the Iskele region the other day and met with the citizens in this region, listened to the problems and explained the solution suggestions. During his visit, Erhürman was accompanied by Iskele MPs Fide Kürşat, Biray Hamzaoğulları, İskele District Chairman Hüseyin Öztörel, district board members and party members. The CTP delegation first visited Yenierenköy and went to Yeşilköy, Gelincik, Adaçayı and Sipahi villages respectively.
“People are being offered prices they cannot achieve…”
CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman, who addressed the citizens during his village visits, stated that it was remarkable that there were land sales in the Iskele region, which is especially within the scope of the decree. Emphasizing that there may be some developments arising from the Development Plan prepared for the Karpaz region, Erhürman said, “People are offered figures that they cannot obtain even if they cultivate these lands for 30 years, and at the end of the day, our people who are trying to struggle with economic difficulties find the solution by selling their lands.”
“This society does not deserve this bad management”
Underlining that he does not condemn people selling their lands, Tufan Erhürman emphasized that the exorbitant prices given in line with the demands bring people to the point of selling their properties. Stating that the Turkish Cypriot community does not deserve to be governed with such a bad management mentality, Erhürman stated that the problems are increasing day by day and early elections are essential. Referring to the economic problems and falling purchasing power problems as well as the issue of property sales, Erhürman said that the institution was consciously damaged by the non-tender fuel purchases made by the current government in KIB-TEK and the public was charged for the mismanagement.
