Buchholz receives seal of approval from Tourismus Marketing Gesellschaft Baden-Wrttemberg / ZTL managing director praises local viticulture and gastronomy.
. The Tourismus Marketing Gesellschaft Baden-Wrttemberg (TMBW) has given Buchholz a new award with the awkward name “Weinsden Weinort”.
Buchholz is one of 53 cities and municipalities in the state that have received the seal, 23 of them in Baden and 29 in Wrttemberg. In Breisgau there are only Glottertal and Endingen. Isabella Vetter, Managing Director of Breisgauer Wein GmbH, presented the award during a small ceremony in the Buchholz Festival Hall, to which not only winemakers but also restaurateurs were invited.
“The grapes may still grow on their own, but it is thanks to the winemakers that they become great wines,” said Mayor Christian Ringwald in his address. “But we not only have great wines, but also excellent gastronomy that everyone in Waldkirch is jealous of.” The municipality owes the fact that Buchholz was able to receive an award at all thanks to the initiative of Ulrike Wei, the managing director of Zwelerland Tourismus. You saw the advertisement and sent the application. Because of the restrictions caused by the corona, unfortunately it is not possible to celebrate with “delicacies from the cellar and kitchen”, regretted Ringwald.
Lord Mayor Roman Gtzmann joined in and said: “This is probably the driest wine event ever.” He congratulated the winemakers “warmly for the decades of work” and reminded them that the city and viticulture had already “put things together”, such as the culinary wine hikes since 2007, the wine festival since 2016. Gtzmann thanked Ulrike Wei: “Admittedly I’m looking forward to toasting with you again. ” The ZTL managing director praised the actual players, the winemakers. The TMBW has already awarded various products on the subject of wine, such as hotels or vinotheques and now “Weinsden Orte”. Buchholz had to meet eight minimum criteria: vintners and gastronomy that are well networked, the wine range in their own regional sales outlets, a welcome culture for wine – “as Buchholz has with the roundabout on the subject of wine” – wine adventure tours and other wine tourism offers. “I think it’s great how active the winemakers and restaurateurs are in Buchholz,” said Wei. For the second country tourism, the certificate represents a quality control, in addition, the second country can be presented to the outside.
