Promypime inaugurates Second Edition of “Green Small” program
THE NEW DIARY, VERON. – The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, together with the director of the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Medium and Small Businesses (Promypime), Porfirio Peralta, delivered RD$65 million in loans to owners of MSMEs in the province of La Altagracia.
The delivery was made during the inauguration of the second edition of the “Green MSMEs” program, where Santos Echavarría and Peralta also left open a micro forest built for MSMEs, in honor of President Luís Abinader.
«Micro, small and medium-sized companies are the driving force of the Dominican economy, thanks to their important contributions to the Gross Domestic Product and their role in the creation of millions of jobs, which represent approximately 55% of the active population of the market. national labor,” said Minister Santos Echavarría.
He explained that MSMEs are fundamental to generating economic growth, reducing poverty, banking access and also closing the gender gap, which is one of their most important contributions, since, in developing countries, Women allocate a large part of their income to promoting the well-being of their families and communities.
«For this reason, from this administration, headed by our president Luis Abinader, we have focused on providing the best conditions for the promotion of entrepreneurship, so that MSMEs can develop, through access to financing, technological solutions and spaces that allow us to establish contact networks in new markets,” he indicated.
On the other hand, the minister congratulated the “Promipyme Green Environmental Management” initiative. He pointed out that, today, the work of business is not only about reducing carbon emissions or dependence on fossil fuels, but that companies are called to centralize the green approach in all production, transportation and marketing processes. of their merchandise.
«Green companies will not be just a segment of the business conglomerate, in fact, they are the companies of the future, those that have assumed a serious commitment to the sustainable use of energy, land, water and all the resources of the world. Mother Earth,” he said.
Meanwhile, Porfirio Peralta reported that the RD$65 million in loans will benefit 168 women and 84 men in the commerce, industry and services sector.
These financings will have an impact on the creation of 173 new jobs, the strengthening of another 1,094, for a total of 1,257.
The director highlighted the work of Promipyme officials for the great effort they make to determine the work capabilities of borrowers.
He affirmed that MSMEs are the pillars of the Dominican economy. “Our commitment is to help strengthen them.”
In addition, he added that Promipyme maintains a recovery rate of 98 percent.
“67 percent of the disbursement made in that municipality is from women.” He concluded by assuring that thanks to the excellent management of President Luis Abinader, MSMEs continue to grow.
For his part, the manager of the Promipyme Environmental Management program, Ennio Santana, explained that the sustainability meeting, to be held Saturday and Sunday, is a platform that seeks to generate a triple impact on the community: economic, social and educational.
He also said that the program aims to offer the community free access to essential resources and knowledge, thus promoting the economy and collaboration on sustainable projects with institutions and private companies.
The event, where there was also a craft fair, included the participation of the governor of the province, Martina Pepén;

Green Mipyme, second edition
