The visit witnessed bilateral meetings with major Japanese companies in the sectors of the automobile industry and its components, electronic industries, pharmaceutical industries, construction equipment, new and renewable energy, and food industries, in addition to the most important Japanese banks and financial institutions, and representatives of the regional office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Tokyo.
Representatives of Japanese companies stressed their confidence in the Egyptian economy, and their appreciation for the Egyptian government’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the investment environment in Egypt, and expressed their desire to pump new investments into the Egyptian market, which is considered a major center for manufacturing and exporting Japanese brands.
The visit included holding an Egyptian-Japanese investment forum in the presence of representatives of 100 Japanese companies and economic bodies, in which future investment areas and various investment opportunities in Egypt, and the successful experiences of Japanese companies operating in Egypt, such as Sumitomo Egypt Company and Otsuka Company, were reviewed.
Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, the Egyptian ambassador to Tokyo, organized a round table that included the head of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and Japanese companies working in the field of the automobile industry and its feeding industries, at the embassy headquarters, for the purpose of presenting the country’s strategy for manufacturing cars, and informing the Japanese business community of developments in the business environment in Egypt. .
