LEHRTE
The CDU / Pirates group in the Lehrter City Council has made several proposals to promote sport and strengthen voluntary work in Lehrte. The applications are to be submitted during the budget consultations in 2021.
Establishment of a position as a volunteer officer
–
“As a result of the corona pandemic, volunteers and non-profit associations have been slowed down and need support. This new area of work is intended to provide assistance and support for the non-profit associations in the Lehrte city area, as volunteers support Lehrte through a volunteer officer or a volunteer officer in the city administration the group writes in their application. “It is important to us that our clubs receive support when they apply for funding,” said Marcel Haak, sports policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. Associations are to be supported, for example, with construction work or other projects, in particular with the acquisition of funding from various sources. Such a specialist, who can provide the associations with the necessary knowledge, relieves the associations considerably in terms of bureaucracy, researching funding providers and the associated applications, emphasizes the group. “This relieves the burden on volunteers in the sports clubs and other organizations in Lehrte and thus creates freedom that benefits the actual work in volunteer work,” adds Marcel Haak.
Suspension of the sports facility usage fees in the budget year 2021
–
In order to further support sport in Lehrte, as in 2020, no usage fees for the sports facilities of Lehrter clubs should be levied in 2021. “We noticed that it was precisely this measure that helped the sports clubs significantly during the corona pandemic. Since the consequences of the corona pandemic will also result in significant restrictions in sports operations in 2021, the use of sports facilities in the Lehrte urban area is also to be expected in 2021 be free of charge and thus give the clubs additional financial leeway that has been lost by other unusual events, “adds Marcel Haak.
Changes to the sports funding guidelines and the guidelines for the use of sports facilities
–
To further support Lehrter Sports, changes are to be made to the sports funding guidelines and the guidelines for the use of sports facilities in the Lehrte urban area. “The currently valid guidelines are from 2013 and the suggestions of the teachers’ associations should be included here, who have already reported such changes to the guidelines to the council several times. It is only logical here to make adjustments to the amounts for construction or maintenance measures as well in the procurement of equipment for the maintenance measures, “explains the group in their application. In addition, events in the sports sector that are effective in promoting the city of Lehrte are to be funded. Accordingly, a new paragraph is to be introduced to make this possible. As an example, the group cites the implementation of the DTTB Top 12 – Table Tennis Youth Tournament in Lehrte in 2019. In the districts, the local councils would support the non-profit sports clubs and events with local council funds. It is therefore only logical to introduce such funding across the city through sports funding. “Sports funding in Lehrte is very good, it has been in the past and should be in the future. Accordingly, it is only justified that we readjust, increase amounts and open up additional funding opportunities,” said Marcel Haak.
Dr. Hans-Joachim Deneke-Jöhrens, chairman of the CDU / Piraten group: “We expect to meet with broad support in the council of the city of Lehrte and have therefore already announced the introduction of these proposals in today’s meeting of the sports committee, at the earliest possible opportunity and enable full referral “.
