It’s not easy to gain a foothold in the music business: The organizers of the new concert series “Nuremberg Sounds” are taking local artists from the metropolitan region under their wing and preparing them for concerts. The application phase has begun.
At this year’s Nuremberg Pop Festival in early October, the city center was once again transformed into a promenade. National and international bands performed at various locations such as the Katharinenruine, the Klarakirche or the Neues Museum, and the local music scene was also well represented. Now the organizers want to work with the popular music department of the Middle Franconia district, Pop! Rot Weiss and PSD Bank Nuremberg offer artists from the Nuremberg metropolitan region their own stage and help them get started in the world of music – with “NBG Sounds”, a new concert series for which newcomers can apply immediately .
Specifically, these are three evenings in which three of the best can present themselves live. The nine acts are selected by a specialized committee and receive targeted support before and after their concert performances. The concerts will take place between March and June 2023 and admission will be free. The evenings will be accompanied by a music and network meeting with cultural operators and local organizers, where young artists will be able to exchange ideas and network. Every band that appears at ‘NBG Sounds’ looks forward to performing at next year’s Nuremberg Pop Festival and various others, from Pop! Rot Weiss and Nürnberg Pop have co-curated concerts and festivals.
