This Thursday the fourteenth edition of the “Donate your old book” campaign was presented, which is carried out in collaboration with municipal and state agencies, schools, private initiative and recyclers who have joined this project.
“The purpose is to recover books that are used and in adequate conditions, that do not have fungus or that are badly damaged, because they are donated to the Ministry of Culture so that they can be used and can be reused,” explained Christian Armas Mendoza, General Director Rovak Waste Solution.
In addition to rescuing books for the cultural heritage of the region, the environmental factor also enters, since the collection of the largest amount of paper waste is sought to recover the fiber through recycling, which will be used to make new products. , which allows reducing pollution from the generation of garbage and making the use of natural resources more efficient.
The Tijuana headquarters of the collection will be the campus of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC).
