Promoting health in the company together

Osnabrück. Increasing competitive pressure from companies, increased workload and new requirements due to advancing digitization: These are just some of the factors that often have a negative impact on the well-being and health of employees. The new “Check-Up for Healthy Work” shows which measures companies can take to counteract this and keep their workforce healthy and fit for work in the long term. The joint free offer of the WIGOS Business Development Agency Osnabrücker Land and the GewiNet Competence Center Health Economics eV supports companies in all aspects of corporate health.

“The subject of health is becoming more and more important in companies. On the one hand, the workload and the average age of employees are increasing in many companies. On the other hand, the topics of health and work-life blending are moving more and more into focus among younger employees, ”explains Sandra Schürmann, head of the WIGOS specialist office.

“Young skilled workers now have different demands on their job. Companies have to meet these requirements if they want to retain the highly sought-after specialists in the long term, ”Schürmann is convinced. Last but not least, efficient staff is an important prerequisite for the company’s success. The “Healthy Work” check-up not only offers interested companies help in determining how well they are positioned in relation to health in the company. It also gives suggestions as to which individual measures can be taken.

The WIGOS specialist office has been helping companies with other important personnel issues for years: The specialist office, for example, carries out a “trainee marketing check” together with the school-business service center and the “#grenzenlos” project with the migration center and the IQ initiative.

Through GewiNet, the WIGOS specialist office cooperates with a partner who has a large network of experts on the subject of “corporate health management”. “It is a great challenge for companies to reconcile health-related aspects with the wishes of the employees and the operational business. That is why the network “Company health management in the Osnabrück region” was initiated years ago. Companies can benefit directly from this network and expertise during the check-up, ”explains Maren Konersmann, project manager for corporate health management and telemedicine at GewiNet.

With the help of a questionnaire, the check-up not only determines the current situation, but also where there is still potential for optimization. After the check-up, the companies receive a protocol of the results with recommendations for action. On request, GewiNet can establish contacts with experts in order to increasingly initiate health promotion in the company and secure it in the long term. The “Healthy Work Check-Up” is also offered as a video conference if required.

“Targeted health promotion makes sense and is possible in all companies – whether in a small craft business or in a large, medium-sized company. We want to give companies an impetus to take action, ”emphasize Sandra Schürmann and Maren Konersmann. “After all, health promotion is more than the often cited bowl of apples on the table.”
