The promoter of British heavyweight Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) Frank Warren said that he was confident in the victory of his ward over the WBO, WBA, IBF world champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). The promoter’s words are quoted by skysports.com.
According to Warren, Alexander’s heavyweight victories were over twilight boxers, and Daniel is a young fighter.
“I am confident in the victory of Dubois, because I believe in my boyfriend. Usyk is a very, very good fighter. He’s a great heavyweight. The guy did everything that was expected of him. But I don’t just watch the latest boxing fights.
When Usyk fought Derek Chisora, there was nothing he could do until Chisora ended near the end of the fight. Usyk exhausted him then. In the beginning, he couldn’t do anything.
I remember the first fight against Joshua, because Anthony then was not ready for such a pace. “AJ” did a little better in the second fight, but still didn’t land the punches he should have. From the last fight, we can understand that Joshua is no longer the same fighter that he once was.
As a reminder, Usyk and Dubois will fight on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland.
