The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) held a health fair in which 390 workers of the institute received orientation on the early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer, and appointments for taking mammography and referrals to pap smears.
As a result, 385 detections of arterial hypertension, type two diabetes mellitus and blood cholesterol were made. The workers with results above the limit were sent to their Family Medicine Unit for medical attention.
581 tests were carried out to detect HIV and hepatitis C. In the Reproductive and Sexual Health module, six vasectomies were performed on men who opted for this method.
The IMSS reported that a demonstration of the workshop for the manufacture of artisanal breast prostheses was carried out for women who underwent a mastectomy.
