PROMO FIGHTERS SUPER TIP. Supermarkets are waging a mussel war: You have to go to this store for the cheapest mussels | Money

On the facebook page of Promojagers there is much debate about where the cheapest mussels can be found. “Albert Heijn is leading the way for the time being and Colruyt also offers mussels for 2.5 euros per kilo,” says Gunther Devisch, manager of the Promojagers. The taste of the mussels is also good, as can be seen from the many reactions on the Facebook page: “We went to get them in Albert Heijn yesterday and they were super tasty”.

Also in Aldi, Lidl and Makro the mussels cost less than 3 euros per kilo. All these supermarket chains follow the price reduction of Albert Heijn. In Carrefour they still cost 3.90 and in Delhaize it is just under 5 euros per kilogram. “Last year it was at the end of July that a real mussel war started between the supermarkets, this year it is a bit earlier,” says Devisch. Prices will remain so sharp in the coming week, according to Devisch, “but it won’t last very long”.

Whether it’s an ideal combination with mussels, we’re not sure, but for fans of the bitter soft drink brand Schweppes, there are golden things to do. “The cans are incredibly cheap in Lidl,” says Devisch. Also on the Facebook page of Promojagers there is very enthusiastic response. The German supermarket chain Lidl currently offers the soft drink for only 33 cents per can. This only applies when purchasing two six packs.
