Two years after his departure from Raf, the midfielder is back in Aveyron, with Onet. After making a winning return to Saint-Paul-lès-Dax on October 7 (3-0 victory and a goal), he will make his debut at La Roque on Saturday October 21 at 6 p.m.
With his right paw, Pierre Ruffaut left lasting memories with Ruthenian supporters. All with two accessions, in National then in Ligue 2, and five seasons of good and loyal service in blood and gold. Having left for Cholet (National, in 2021) then Andrézieux (National 2, in 2022), the 36-year-old metronome had still kept his heart in Aveyron.
“When we left with my wife, we were already talking about a return. We wanted to come back because the quality of life here is great. I had known Yoan (Boscus, Onet’s trainer) for a few years, that’s “it happened naturally. After Rodez, there was only Onet which could allow me to continue playing at an interesting level”, argues the neo-Castonetois.
“I feel ready”
And after having had to hold back due to his requalification from professional player to amateur player (he could only be qualified from October 1), the relay midfielder took his first steps on October 7, in the Landes . A striking introduction in every sense of the word. At the end of a difficult month of September, the OCF won without embellishment (3-0) in Saint-Paul-lès-Dax. And with an achievement from his summer recruit!
“It’s very rare that I score in my first match. It must be the first time. I would have preferred to make my debut on September 10 but it was, perhaps, almost better for me. My preparation was truncated between looking for accommodation, school for the children, etc. Now, I feel ready and I am gradually gaining pace,” says Ruffaut.
“There is technique. We have to refine all that”
The arrival of the former Raf is a major reinforcement in the three-way midfielder of Aveyron. With this additional cartridge, could the yellow and blue hope for better than simple maintenance at the end of the season? The main person concerned is still ambitious: “They are young, there is technical quality. Afterwards, we have to refine all that, be in a good place tactically, he adds. We remain in a good match at the away. The coach insisted on that. We will have to be uncompromising at home to maintain our position without being frightened and see a little higher at the end of the season.”
To put themselves in a good position, Ruffaut and his team will try to return to victory at home against Stade Bordeaux, Saturday October 21 (6 p.m.), to definitively leave the sad month of September behind them.
Ritas suspended, Lacabane and Vinicius back
The formation of Yoan Boscus (7th) challenges Stade Bordeaux (8th) Saturday October 21 (6 p.m.) in La Roque. A golden opportunity for the Castonétois to enter the top 5 of their N3 group in the event of a victory.
As for the squad, Boscus will do without Ritas (suspended after receiving three yellow cards), whose father Julien played for the evening’s opponent. But also Bertrand, Lacroix and Soulatges (injured). Abidi and Ricci were not selected. Conversely, Lacabane and Vinicius are returning to the group.
The group: Dahak, Mohimont – Bonnefous, Daurenjou, Legroux, Prunera, Schaab – Bobek (cap.), Deplace, Durand, Malrieu, Ruffaut, Vinicius – Ahammout, Brunet, Lacabane.
