Makis Voridis appeared provocative in his radio interview on Sky 100.3, as at a time when large parts of society are struggling to make ends meet and the accuracy has brought households to their knees, he said that in Greece “we are championing the growth rate”.
Specifically, the Minister of State said that the government’s goal is “European convergence – and this means the great effort to recover the much-lost ground of the 15-year bankruptcy”, adding that “tourism, the primary sector, the real estate market and manufacturing are the spearheads of of the Greek economy, which is constantly developing”.
At the same time, he said that “yes, we are improving, but the lies are bad, the threshold from which we started is very low. So it requires a very important work and effort that must continue to be done.”
Finally, while Makis Voridis presents a “magical picture” of the situation in our country, he said that “we are championing the growth rate. We do it in the best possible way, with the best result.”
All this, while according to the annual report of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Greece ranks last in many places and has the third lowest salary among the 35 OECD countries. In fact, it is surpassed only by Mexico and Colombia.
