Projo volunteers under the leadership of Budi Arie officially declared their support for Prabowo Subianto as presidential candidate in 2024. General Chair of Projo Ganjar Volunteers, Haposan Situmorang, admitted that he was confused because Budi Arie was a PDIP cadre.
“PDI Perjuangan is Projo’s biological mother. In 2014, Projo was born into PDI-P cadres to support Joko Widodo in the 2014 presidential election. Budi Arie is also a PDIP cadre,” said Haposan in his statement, Saturday (14/10/2023).
Even so, Haposan admitted that he was not surprised by the declaration made by Projo Budi Arie. According to him, Projo Budi Arie looks like he has been playing with Prabowo for a long time.
“They have been flirting with Prabowo for a long time. So we think it’s normal. The only thing we are still confused about is Projo Budi Arie’s basis for supporting Prabowo,” he said.
Haposan also assessed that Projo Budi Arie had openly betrayed the PDI Perjuangan. Because, he said, Projo was born from the womb of PDIP.
“They are traitors,” he said.
Projo Advisory Council Secretary Ganjar Sunggul Hamonangan Sirait considers it strange that Projo, which was founded by PDIP, supports a presidential candidate other than Ganjar Pranowo. In fact, he said, PDIP cadres and sympathizers should support Ganjar.
“In our opinion, it is strange and unnatural if a mass organization founded by PDIP cadres then supports Prabowo, who in the upcoming presidential election is the opponent of Ganjar Pranowo who is being promoted by PDIP,” he explained.
“Cadres and sympathizers of Projo Budi Arie and Projo Ganjar who were born from the womb of the PDIP must submit and obey, not become Si Malin Kundang,” he added.
He also admitted that he had no problem if Projo Budi Arie wanted to support Prabowo. According to him, let the Indonesian people be the ones to judge.
“For us, it doesn’t matter if Projo Budi Arie supports Prabowo. In fact, that’s better than being shy. The people will judge who is a fighter and who is a traitor,” he continued.
He also admitted that he did not see Jokowi’s direction to Projo Budi Arie to support Prabowo. On the contrary, he said, during the PDIP National Working Meeting, Jokowi supported Ganjar.
“In fact, at the PDIP National Working Meeting some time ago, Mr. Jokowi supported Ganjar Pranowo. Mr. Jokowi immediately said that after being appointed president, Mr. Ganjar would immediately take care of food sovereignty. Millions of Indonesian people witnessed President Jokowi’s statement,” he said.
Projo Supports Prabowo
Previously, Projo volunteers officially declared their support for the 2024 presidential candidate. Projo stated that they supported Prabowo Subianto as the 2024 presidential candidate.
“We Projo have agreed to support Mr. Prabowo Subianto as the Indonesian presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential election,” said Ketum Projo Budi Arie in front of Prabowo’s house in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Saturday (14/10).
This support was conveyed by volunteers after visiting Prabowo’s house. Previously, Projo volunteers held a National Working Meeting at the Indonesia Arena, GBK.
The National Working Meeting was opened by President Joko Widodo. In his speech, Jokowi mentioned the criteria for future leaders.
