PROJECTS FOR 2021: David Regades: “Ikea continues to bet very strongly on the Valladares PTL” | Radio Vigo | Present

The Vigo Free Zone delegate visited Hoy por Hoy Vigo to talk about the Consortium’s plans for this year 2021, in which he foresees that the investment will exceed 60 million euros in Vigo and in the Metropolitan Area. An important year that will have to include the extensions of the PTL, Porto do Molle and the opening of the PLISAN of Salvaterra As Neves. It will also be a year of change of headquarters and a year in which the Free Trade Zone will begin to activate and give life to the buildings that it has bought and that it will allocate to different projects. The delegate also expects 2021 to be the starting gun for the project to recover the Bakery. In addition, Regades is committed to continuing to collaborate with the City Council of Vigo in the recovery of more emblematic buildings in the city of Vigo. The thing is not going to stop there.

David Regades has also been clear when talking about the development of the Valladares PTL and the growth that, in the new phase that is underway, he wants to give to the Technological and Logistics Park of Vigo. It has advanced that the contacts with Ikea Ibérica continue to open a store in the PTL and that the Swedish firm would be very interested in coming to Vigo. Regades assured that the one in Vigo would be “Ikea’s number 1 priority in Europe” and that this makes it easier to manage their arrival at Free Zone land. The delegate made it clear that they do not want more shopping centers in Vigo, but rather companies that complement without damaging the local commerce and hospitality industry. In addition to Ikea, other companies are also studying the possibility of coming to Vigo.

The delegate also presented the negotiations with the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Finance in order to consolidate the candidacy of the battery factory, the green hydrogen project and the naval sector for European funds. Free Trade Zone continues to work together with the Council of Vigo to strengthen the different proposals that continue to take firm steps to attract European investment.
