PROINVERSIÓN will double the amount awarded for PPP projects in the first half of 2024 in 2023

In the first semester, PROINVERSIÓN plans to award the New San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal project (US$ 405 million investment), which will boost the economic dynamism of the southern part of the country, as well as the Peripheral Road Ring (US$ 3,400 million of total cost), which will benefit 4.5 million citizens of Lima and Callao by improving their connectivity, reducing travel time and cost.

The Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) are consolidated in 2024. The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) plans to award, in the first half of 2024, seven (7) projects in the transportation, sanitation and electricity sectors that would add investments for US$ 4,621 million; This figure would be double the value achieved in the entire fiscal year 2023 (US$ 2,332 million).

The amount of the first six months would also mean a record with respect to the results recorded by the agency between January and June of the last 10 years (2015 – 2024), assured the Executive Director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi. The expected result as of June would exceed by 100% the amount of investment awarded in PPP and Asset Projects throughout 2023.

“Thanks to the work led by the PROINVERSION team, in coordination with the actors of the PPP system, project awards have been reactivated in 2023 and will continue with greater momentum in 2024, accompanying the reactivation of the economy and promoting the confidence of Private investment in the country. Therefore, we optimistically announce the positive results expected for the first semester,” said Salardi.

He also highlighted the renewed interest of the private sector, national and foreign, in the PPP processes and Asset Projects that PROINVERSIÓN has been promoting, “which reflects confidence in the future of our country, because PPPs are long-term investments.” he stressed.
