Prohibition of Homecoming Ends, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Starts Crowded with Aircraft Passengers

One of the airport service users, Muklas (22), admitted that he had just returned from his homecoming with two other family members.

He left for his homecoming to Padang, West Sumatra, on May 4, 2021, before the Lebaran homecoming ban.

“I came home from Padang. On May 4 (2021) I went there (Padang),” he said when met at Terminal 2D Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tuesday.

Muklas chose to go home because he missed his extended family.

He then returned because he had to start working tomorrow in DKI Jakarta.

“I have a Padang restaurant in Jakarta, so I went home today. Incidentally, there is no ban on going home,” he said.

Muklas said, the price of plane tickets from Padang to Soekarno Hatta Airport amounting to IDR 1,200,000.

“There’s no hike in prices. Usually it’s that much,” he said.

Another traveler, Dimas Febrian (23), admitted that he had just returned from Malang, East Java.

Similar to Muklas, the 23-year-old man chose to go home to meet his family.

“The main goal is to go home and stay in touch with family and friends, but besides that, I will also be refreshing there,” said the 23-year-old man when met at Terminal 2D Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

He returned to Tangerang City today because there is no longer any prohibition on going home for Lebaran 2021.

“Back on May 18 because the homecoming ban is no longer in effect,” he said.

Dimas said, the price of an airplane ticket from Abdul Rachman Saleh Airport in Malang to Soekarno-Hatta Airport was IDR 975,000.

“That’s a Citilink plane, I think there is an increase in prices compared to the previous ones,” he said.

Not only filled with travelers, Ismi also came to Jakarta to carry out office duties.

“This was from Bali. In Bali it is also an office job. My original service is in Kupang,” said Ismi when met.

When leaving Kupang for Bali on May 14, 2021, Ismi admitted that he was carrying an official letter.

With this official letter, he was allowed to use the air transportation mode.

“Here (from Bali), I take Air Asia. The ticket price is Rp. 1,600,000,” said Ismi.

Kompas.com monitored from 14.00 WIB to 17.00 WIB, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport were crowded airplane passengers who landed at the airport.

You can see that among the passengers who do not only carry suitcases, but also carry other large items covered by cardboard or plastic wrapping.

Airport officials seemed busy pushing the trolley that had been used by plane passengers.

In the pick-up waiting room, you can see the airplane passengers waiting for their pick-up.

Not only filled with adults, it appears that a number of families bring underage children and even children under five years old.
