Prohibition of going home, Tenant Turnover in the Rest Area has decreased but cannot be closed … Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Policy prohibition of homecoming for Eid has reduced the level of community visits to the rest area, because vehicle movement is severely restricted during 6-17 May 2021. This condition has a major impact on business actors in the rest area.

Chairperson of the Indonesian Rest Area Entrepreneurs Association (Aprestindo) R Widie Wahyu GP said the turnover of fuel oil (BBM) sales in the rest area fell by 80 to 90 percent on average. It was also helped because there were trucks that were not restricted in movement.

Meanwhile, tenants in the rest area, be it international, national, local, or MSME brands, on average, their turnover decreased by 95 percent.

“What a pity it is for holding-holding, they can be said that they hardly sell, they have no income at all, their turnover is only 5-10 percent, “said Widie to Kompas.com, Wednesday (12/5/2021).

Even though the income is very low, tenants cannot close because the rest area is one of the public service sectors that still needs to operate, even during this period. prohibition on returning to one’s home area.

Even though by continuing to operate, it means that the operational costs must still be paid every day. These costs include at least electricity, water, gas, and human resources.

“In addition, in times like today, entrepreneurs must also pay their employees’ salaries and THR in full, while their income is really zonk, really drops,” he said.

As a result, continued Widie, to at least reduce electricity and gas costs, tenants reduce their operating hours. For example, for example, fast food restaurants that usually operate for 24 hours now only start at 11.00 WIB-21.00 WIB.

“So as long as the homecoming ban has a very impact on the rest area business,” he said.

Widie revealed that rest areas that are still quite crowded are those in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.

This is because Jabodetabek is indeed an agglomeration area that is exempted from restrictions on vehicle movement.

The rest areas that are quite busy include the Jagorawi toll road KM 10, the Cikampek KM 6 toll road, the Jakarta-Tanggerang toll road KM 13.5 and KM 14.

“Apart from that, everything is quiet. Especially the Trans Java, Merak, and Trans Sumatra toll roads, it is very quiet,” said Widie.
