The policy, he said, is contained in the addendum to Circular No. 13/2021 which regulates the tightening of the requirements for Domestic Travel Actors (PPDN) during D-14 eliminating going home from April 22 to May 5 2021 and H + 7 eliminating going home 18 to 24 May 2021 .

Doni explained that the homecoming ban was carried out earlier to prevent the wider spread of Covid-19.

According to him, this policy is also for the safety of the Indonesian people.

“The ban on going home for the sake of the safety of the Indonesian nation. Longing for parents, hometown can endure first, be patient,” said Doni.

He said 33 percent of Indonesians wanted to return to their hometowns before they were prohibited from going home. However, after being banned, only 11 percent remained.

“We will reduce it again to 7 percent. Because if for example 29 million people go home, this will have very high mobility. For that, don’t go home first because Covid-19 has not ended,” said Doni.

Covid-19 is not over

He also asked the public not to ignore health protocols to prevent Covid-19.

Because, according to Doni, if people are slack in implementing health protocols, then positive cases will increase.

“Even though the vaccine is very good. However, there is no guarantee that the vaccine cannot be exposed to Covid-19. Vaccines are only about 60 percent of their effectiveness. So, we hope that the cooperation of all parties to stop the spread of Covid-19, and we will also work hard. , “said Doni.
