EL.AS introduced the ban on public gatherings in Paleo Faliro. for tomorrow Saturday after the rally name for the “1st Delight Household, by the nationalist group “El Hero” and the announcement of anti-fascist organizations for a counter-gathering within the space.
In line with the police assertion, the ban from 12 midday to 12 midnight was determined as there’s a “critical danger to public security and a menace of great disruption of socio-economic life” within the space.
The calls
Specifically, the announcement of EL.AS. states that “it’s prohibited to carry two public open-air gatherings, which have been introduced within the space of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro a) on Saturday 6-7-2024 at 7:20 p.m. at 30 Poseidonos Ave. by members of “El Hero” and b ) on Saturday 6-7-2024 at 18:00 on the waterfront of Flisvo by members of the collectives “Antifascists from the southern suburbs & solidarity” and “Initiative of people towards household satisfaction”.

“It’s introduced that by the choice of the Director of the Athens Police, the holding of two public open-air conferences, which have been introduced within the space of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro a) on Saturday 7-6-2024 at 19:20 at 30 Posidonos Ave. by members of “El Hero” and b) on Saturday 6-7-2024 at 18:00 on the waterfront of Flisvos by members of the collectives “Initiative of anti-fascists from the southern suburbs & solidarity” and “Initiative of people towards household satisfaction”.
Moreover, it’s prohibited to carry any public out of doors gathering associated to the above gatherings from 12:00′ on 6-7-2024 to 23:59′ on 6-7-2024 within the city community of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro which is enclosed by the streets- avenues:
Andreas Syggrou Avenue – Demosthenous – Nazliou – Cyprus – Pamphylia – El. Venizelos – Psaros – Agia Sophia – Sokratous – Costi Palamas – Kallikratos – Kountouriotou – Epirus – Amartolon – Lykourgos – Aeschylus – Pythagoras – Ethelonton – Praxitelous – Picrodafni – Poseidonos Avenue – Ioannou Repair – Apollonos Avenue – Floisvos Marina – Floisvos Park – Park of Maritime Traditions – Andreas Syggrou Ave.
The above prohibition is imposed, because the simultaneous holding of the above gatherings by opposing teams poses a critical danger to public security and threatens critical disruption of socio-economic life within the particular space, vehicular, pedestrian and public transport site visitors, the operation of infrastructure and neighborhood amenities within the space.
As well as, the organizers of the 2 above gatherings didn’t notify the native Police Authority of their intention to ask most of the people to take part, at a selected place and time, in a public out of doors gathering as they need to, in accordance with the provisions of article 3 paragraph 1 & 2 of Regulation 4703/2020 and article 3 of the Presidential Decree 73/2020, and due to this fact the prescribed process of the present laws on public out of doors gatherings was not adopted”.
