Progressive Party of Serbia (SNS) Wins Majority in December 17 Parliamentary Elections

The Progressive Party of Serbia (SNS) wins the majority of votes in the parliamentary elections held on December 17.

The first results of the processing of ballots and polls conducted by Ipsos and CeSID show that the SNS can count on 46.2% of the vote, while its main rival, the center-left Serbia Against Violence (SPV) Alliance, can count on 23.2%.

“This is an unconditional victory, which I am very happy about,” said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who served as chairman of the SNA until June 2023.

The Progressive Party of Serbia was created in 2008. In 2010, the party leadership signed a cooperation agreement with United Russia. Since 2012, the Progressive Party of Serbia, together with its coalition partners, has held the majority of seats in parliament.

Aleksandar Vucic has served as President of Serbia since June 1, 2017. Before that, he headed the Serbian government for three years.
