The construction of the Health Center Campus is progressing rapidly!
The site of the Pôle Santé Campus, construction of which began in February 2023, will be occupied by the High School of Health (HEdS) et la Higher School and Higher School of Social Work (HESTS) of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis in collaboration with four partners: theValais Health Observatoryl’EPFL, The Ark et SpArk. Currently, the construction teams are still in the structural work phase. They are now tackling the top floor of part of the building, located in the Champsec sector.
Consolidation of synergies with partners
“We are delighted to see that synergies with our partners are being consolidated and that the construction of the Campus is progressing according to schedule! It is now possible to concretely plan for this new space which will host our future projects and initiatives” declared the director of HEdS Lara de Preux-Allet.
An entire floor dedicated to teaching
With four levels of 6,200 m² each, this large-scale project requires meticulous work that will last several more months. The next step involves finalizing the structure to allow the building to be put “under roof”. Once the waterproofing has been ensured, the interior work can begin, starting with the basements before gradually moving up to the upper floors.
In terms of development, the top floor will be dedicated exclusively to teaching and practicing technical gestures, providing an optimal setting for training students. An auditorium with over 450 seats, equipped with simultaneous interpretation booths in three languages, a spacious “market square” acting as a meeting place, as well as a cafeteria will complete the training and research infrastructure. On the lower ground floor, a daycare center that can accommodate around 45 children will be set up to meet the needs of certain families. Another interesting aspect of this Campus is its proximity to theSion hospitalthus facilitating access to healthcare settings and strengthening the overall coherence of the project.
Opening planned for the start of the 2026 school year
The end of the construction site is scheduled for September 2026 in order to welcome students for the 2026-2027 academic year on the site. The Pôle Santé Campus represents a major project for the future of training and health in Valais as well as for the attractiveness of the HEdS.
