Profoto launches softboxes without a separate speed ring. All parts fit together and this makes them easier and faster to assemble.
Anyone who has installed a softbox know how troublesome it can be to get all the “tent pegs” in place, especially if you have an octagonal softbox with many braces.
Inspired by their collapsible Clic Softbox for the A flashes, Profoto has developed three softboxes with built-in speed ring for their larger studio flashes. The advantage is that all parts fit together so that you don’t have to attach the stays to the canvas and speed ring. The softbox folds up quickly and easily.
The three versions launched are:
Profoto Softbox Octa 3 inch
Profoto Softbox Rectangular 2 x 3 tum
Profoto Softbox Strip 1 x 4 tum
They cost SEK 5,679 including VAT each.
Diffusion cloth for rim light
For Octa and Rectangular, a diffusion cloth with black mesh is sold so that light comes out along the edges. It can be used to get edge lighting around an entire product or a face. For the Strip softbox there is a mask that makes the light even narrower.
The softboxes handle halogen setting lights up to 500 watts.
