The profits of Emaar Properties attributable to shareholders in 2022 amounted to about 6.8 billion dirhams ($ 1.9 billion), an increase of 80% over the year 2021, according to a statement published by the Dubai Financial Market on Tuesday.
Emaar is an Emirati real estate company listed on the Dubai Stock Exchange, and it is one of the largest real estate developers in the Emirates, and it has many projects in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, and it has a land portfolio amounting to 1.7 billion square feet in the Emirates and abroad.
Real estate sales amounted to about 35.1 billion dirhams during 2022, after launching new projects, according to the statement.
The Corona pandemic increased the pressure on the real estate sector in Dubai, as the supply remained exceeding the demand for housing units for several years, but the sector improved after Dubai eased the restrictions related to the pandemic faster than most cities in the world.
Emaar includes under its umbrella a number of companies such as Emaar Development, Emaar International, and Emaar Shopping Centers Management.
The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is one of the most prominent projects developed by Emaar.
