The man was carrying a gun and intended to attack Sheikh al Baleelah who was delivering the Friday sermon. But security officers quickly arrested the perpetrator and detained him.
Sheikh Bandar al Baleelah is known as one of the Imams of the Grand Mosque. He was born in Makkah in 1395 H.

He completed his basic education to higher education in Makkah. He was recorded as a graduate from the University of Umm Al-Qura.

In 1422 H received a master’s degree from the College of Sharia and Islamic Sciences. Subsequently, he obtained a doctorate from the Islamic University of Medina in 1429 H.
