Sheikh Bandar Al Baleelah about to be attacked by a man with a cane while being a preacher of Friday prayers at Masjidil Haram, Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Baleelah himself is known as one of the imams in the Grand Mosque.
Quoted from Manarat Al-Haramain, the Saudi Arabian government communications website, Syeikh Baleelah was born in Mecca Al-Mukarramah in 1395 H.
Syeikh Baleelah completed all academic levels in Mecca and graduated from Umm Al-Qura University. He then obtained a master’s degree in jurisprudence from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies in 1422 H.
Subsequently, he obtained a doctorate from the Islamic University of Madinah in the field of jurisprudence from the Islamic High School in 1429 Hijriyah. He is currently working as an assistant professor at Taif University in addition to serving as an imam and lecturer at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
As reported by Gulf Today, Saturday (22/5/2021), a man tried to attack Sheikh Baleelah’s preacher. The man, whose identity was not identified, was secured by security guards on guard around the pulpit, before launching his attack.
“A man who attempted to attack the pulpit where the imam delivered a sermon before Friday prayers at the Grand Mosque has been arrested,” the Makkah Police statement said on Twitter.
