Profile of Alexander Ramlie: Potential New Billionaire in Indonesia's Market

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Director of Amman Mineral Alexander Ramlie is included in the ranks of the richest person candidates thanks to the initial listing of shares of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk. Through indirect ownership in AMMN, his assets reach Rp. 14.59 trillion or almost touch US$ 1 billion.

It is known that the mining issuer owned by Gruo Medco, owned by the Panigoro family, has been listed on the stock exchange recently. Amman Mineral managed to raise IDR 10.73 trillion, with an initial capitalization of IDR 121.89 trillion.

Since taking the floor on the stock exchange, AMMN’s shares have strengthened 66.96% from the IPO price. Meanwhile, AMMN shares are parked at the level of IDR 2,810 per share at today’s market close, Monday (31/7/2023). AMMN shares have risen 5.64% throughout the day.

So who is Alexander Ramlie? Here is his profile:

Quoting Amman’s official website, Alexander has served as President Director of PT Amman Mineral Internasional (AMMAN) since 2015. He was part of one of the company’s founding team and played a central role in the acquisition of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara.

Currently, Alex also serves as the Non-Executive Director of a mining contractor listed on ASX Macmahon Holdings Ltd. From 2011 to 2015, Alex served as President Director and CEO of PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal Tbk. Alex led the acquisition of a majority stake in Bumi PLC by Borneo in 2011.

Meanwhile, from 2012 to 2015 Alex served as Director of Bumi PLC which is listed on the LSE, Vice President Commissioner/Deputy Chairman of the Board of PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk which is listed on the IDX, as well as a subsidiary of PT Berau Coal.

Apart from being active in AMMN, currently this Boston University graduate also serves as a commissioner at PT Bumi Resources Tbk, PT Kaltim Prima Coal, and PT Arutmin Indonesia.
