Profile of Akidi Tio, Entrepreneur from East Aceh, Contributing IDR 2 Trillion for Handling Covid-19

PALEMBANG, KOMPAS.TV The late Akidi Tio became the talk of the community recently after his extended family provided a grant worth Rp. 2 trillion for the handling of Covid-19 in South Sumatra Province during PPKM Level 4.

The news of the grant funding was revealed through the South Sumatra Police Public Relations social media on Monday (26/7/2021).

Akidi Tio’s family handed over the grant to the South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri in the Rekonfu Room of the South Sumatra Police Headquarters, Palembang.

“The handover of the grant/CSR was witnessed by the Governor of South Sumatra Province H Herman Deru, Dandrem 004 Gapo Brigadier General Jauhari Agus Suraji, Kadinkes Lesty Nurainy. Handing over of Grants in the context of handling Covid-19 in South Sumatra Province,” wrote the South Sumatra Police social media account.

Akidi Tio’s profile also made the public curious. So, who exactly is the late Akidi Tio?

Prof dr Hardi Darmawan revealed that the deceased was an entrepreneur in the field of construction and contractor from Langsa, East Aceh.

“The deceased was an entrepreneur in the iron and container sector,” said Hardi, as quoted by Antara Kompas.com.

Hardi is a doctor who has worked for the Akidi family for 48 years. He was the one who helped the Akidi family hand over the aid.

“I was also surprised when his son called him to hand over this aid, because it was of great value,” said Hardi.
