First terror suspect released from custody
Vienna (OTS) – On Thursday the first – and so far only – alleged accomplice of the assassin in Vienna was released from custody. As the news magazine “Profil” reports in its new edition, the man was released at the request of the public prosecutor. Reason: lack of urgent suspicion. Attorney Nikolaus Rast had written a complaint on behalf of his client, which was settled by his release. Hours and days after the November 2 terrorist attack, police arrested a dozen alleged accomplices. Further arrests followed. There are currently eight further detention complaints at the Higher Regional Court, “which are still to be decided”, as a spokesman told “profil”.
Investigators now assume that the assassin KF walked from the 22nd district to the city center on November 2nd. He is said to have thrown away his cell phone there. “A corresponding smartphone was found in a rubbish bin in the immediate vicinity of the Schwedenplatz crime scene,” the Vienna Public Prosecutor told “profil”
