Profi reached 100 stores that operate according to the New Profi concept, just one year after the inauguration of the first such store, in Ploieşti. The next step is digitization

The Profi retailer, controlled by the Mid Europa Partners investment fund, has reached the threshold of 100 stores operating according to the New Profi concept, after only one year from the opening of the first store of this kind, in Ploieşti, and the next step is digitalization.

“In 2021, we started to revolutionize the way our stores look and the feeling they convey, introducing the New Profi concept and convenience shopping. In 2022, we will continue to massively multiply this model, while also leading the revolution within Profi through digitization and a large number of programs, including the use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of our customers, “said Pawel Musial, CEO of Profi.

The latter, explains Profi representatives, is a format that addresses rural areas and provides access to local products.

Following the implementation of this concept at the level of the store chain, sales have increased, the retailer’s officials mention.

Thus, they add, the decision was made to continue with massive investments in the company’s growth and, at the same time, to draw a new trajectory for the development of Profi. In this sense, Pawel Musial claims that the expansion will be done from now on at a sustained pace, but the number of new stores will be tempered, following that the number of existing stores will be remodeled.

“Zone Fiigo will find its place in all new or refurbished stores, so that, on their way to or from work, or if they forgot to buy something, people will have a place to come to complete their shopping. It should be noted that the remodeling of such a store requires a volume of investments comparable to that required for opening a new store “, said the CEO of Profi.

In 2022, in addition to the remodeling of offline stores, Profi announces that it will also work on a new digital look, with a redesigned website and a digitized loyalty program.

At the same time, next year the retailer will implement home delivery and other forms of e-commerce.

Profi has over 1,500 offline stores in Romania, of which 600 are managed by partner entrepreneurs and about 25,000 employees in over 700 localities.

In 2020, the retailer achieved a turnover of 8.8 billion lei, 22% more than the previous year.
