At the end of the month, Professor Michael Wenzl will say goodbye as Director of the Center for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, one of the largest specialist clinics in the Ingolstadt Clinic.
Wenzl’s successor as director of the center on July 1 will be Professor Hans-Georg Palm, who comes from the University Hospital Erlangen. For 20 years he was a medical officer in the Bundeswehr hospital in Ulm.
16 years ago, Wenzl started as director of the clinic for accident, reconstructive, hand and plastic surgery at the Ingolstadt Clinic. He retired at the end of June.
“His departure comes close to the end of an era in the hospital. During this time, he set up and developed the Center for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, which is one of the most important addresses for the treatment of accident victims in Bavaria,” says Andreas Tiete, Medical Director and Managing Director of Medicine, Nursing and Information Technology.
