Professor of Sociology at Omar Bongo University (UOB), Anaclet Bissielo. Fighter of democracy, this sociologist, former minister had become one of the last faithful of Jean Ping who still claims his victory in the presidential election of 2016. Reports the site Gabon Actu. Died at the age of 65, Bissielo was born in Port-Gentil. He began his political career as a member of the Gabonese Progress Party (PGP), under the leadership of Pierre-Louis Agondjo Okawé, before later becoming the leader of the Radical Party of Independent Republicans (Pari). In addition to his political commitment, he was also a professor of sociology at the Omar Bongo University (UOB) in Libreville.

In 2009, under the presidency of Omar Bongo, Bissielo was appointed Minister of Planning and Prospective, a position he held until October of the same year. After the death of Omar Bongo, Bissielo returned to the opposition. Around the 2016 presidential election, he got closer to Jean Ping, becoming one of his closest advisers. He worked discreetly on the agreement concluded in August 2016 between Jean Ping, Casimir Oyé Mba and Guy Nzouba Ndama, which resulted in the designation of Ping as the only serious opponent to Ali Bongo for the presidential election of August 27.

Bissielo relied on civil society leaders, such as Pastor Georges Bruno Ngoussi and Marc Ona Essangui, founder of Brainforest, to achieve such a rapprochement. He also consulted many former barons of Omar Bongo, including former mayor of Libreville Jean-François Ntoutoume Emane and former president of the National Assembly Marcel Eloi Rahandi Chambrier.
