As a legal entity, your association may be held liable.
It is required to repair the damage caused to others due to:
- of its activities in the broad sense
- property it owns or has custody of
- people for whom it must answer (managers, employees, members, volunteers, etc.)
However, this compensation for damages can jeopardize the financial health of your association. In some cases, the pecuniary responsibility of the managers can also be retained.
Finally, some associations are subject to a civil liability insurance obligation. This is the case of sports associations, associations organizing trips, approved management associations or associations employing health professional employees performing medical or paramedical procedures.
