Professional exchange in Ilfeld: September 25, 2021, 8:21 am

15th Thuringian Nursing Symposium

Suitable skilled workers are desperately looking for in old people’s homes, nursing homes and hospitals, but the market has been swept empty. At the care symposium on Wednesday people spoke out in favor of changing and expanding the care reform. New working and training conditions should make the job more attractive?

We have to improve working conditions, demanded Martina Röder, hostess and managing director of the Ilfeld Neander Clinic last Wednesday at the 15th Thuringian Care Symposium. Improving means: more time for those who need to be cared for and higher remuneration on the job. This time too, Thuringia’s Minister of Health Heike Werner was the patron.

Participants from Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony came together in the Ilfeld Neander Clinic for a professional exchange. We have chosen topics that move us all, said Martina Röder. Carsten Drude, Chairman of the Federal Association of Teaching Health and Social Professions, spoke about the new, generalist training path. ?? For the learners, the training paths depend on the offer of the provider and the school ??, explained Drude. In a total of 400 practical hours, the trainees should get to know everything practical. Drude is certain that the generalist approach has succeeded in arousing interest in the profession. Lawyer Stephan Kreuels from Münster spoke last Wednesday about healing tasks and organizational responsibility of the nursing profession. Sabine Hindrichs gave an update on the updating of the assessment guidelines on the need for long-term care. She also explained the conflict of “self-determination versus independence”.

“We are all facing challenges and we would like to thank you on behalf of the German Nursing Association for your commitment,” said the managing director of the Neander Clinic to the participants. There is a lack of personnel assessment instruments for the hospital sector; these have not yet been launched. All staff measurements and wage increases that we carry out here currently always mean that it is becoming more expensive for the senior citizens who need to be cared for. This situation is no longer acceptable, warned Röder.

Finally, an invitation to the German Care Day was held in Berlin. It will take place on October 13th and 14th as a hybrid event.
